The Hacienda Manteles is a family-run lodging set amid beautiful countryside in the Ecuadorian Andes Mountains. The hacienda has been nominated as an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area by Bird Life International, making it perfect for bird watchers and nature lovers in general.
Behind the hacienda are 200 hectares of cloud forest through which regular rides and hikes are organized. Legend declares that the Inca treasure of Atahualpa is buried somewhere in this area. The hacienda itself is surrounded by ample gardens and green spaces from which to enjoy the surrounding views, especially of the Volcán Tungurahua. The Hacienda Manteles occupies a privileged position between the Andes and the Amazon with unique biological and environmental zones around about.
